Business plan
The business plan for the Shared Service Initiative was written in 2002, following the whole-of-Government review of corporate services undertaken that year. It is made up of the following three documents and an executive summary (PDF 430 K) (pdf - 426kB).
Overview of the Queensland Government's Shared Service Initiative (PDF 1,240 K) (pdf - 1.2MB) describes the Queensland Governments vision and model for shared services. It provides an overview of:
- the vision and benefits of shared services
- transitioning people to shared services
- the approach required to build shared services
- risk management for the shared service implementation
- the critical success factors for the Shared Service Initiative.
Transitioning People to the Queensland Government's Shared Service Initiative (PDF 800 K) (pdf - 798kB) describes how people working in corporate services transition to shared services. It provides details on workforce and communications strategies, including:
- people and shared services
- leadership during the transition
- how people will be involved in the transition
- opportunities for support and development
- provision of accurate and timely information
- the transition process
- the organisation model for shared services.
Building the Queensland Government's Shared Service Initiative (PDF 920 K) (pdf - 916kB) provides a detailed description of the whole-of-government implementation approach to the delivery of shared services. It provides details on:
- implementation drivers
- the initial scope of services
- workstream 1: performance and service management
- workstream 2: business process
- workstream 3: information and communication technology (with the fourth workstream on workforce and communications covered in Transitioning People to the Queensland Government's Shared Service Initiative)
- further planning required for the implementation.
